In South Africa the year before, I had learnt a lot about my identity as a daughter of a King and realised that there was nothing I could do to be loved more or less. This felt really strange to me, as someone who had always achieved to receive love, I suddenly realised I simply needed to receive it.
However the more I realised I could just relax and receive and believe I was ENOUGH AS I WAS, the more peace that I felt and more confidently I could walk in being me.
One morning I woke up, remembering about those realisations I had received. So I got dressed, put on some make up and stared at myself in the mirror saying:
“YOU ARE ENOUGH AS YOU ARE”.
“YOU ARE GOOD ENOUGH”.
Despite my heart not believing it I just chose to say it.
My mind caught up and soon I walked believing it. I put on a quirky outfit and asked if my Dad was around. I felt nervous to ask but I went ahead. He is a wonderful photographer.
I was starting to embrace my dreams…. I come alive on camera more than other places. It’s as if through it I can tell a story and I find out so much truth through doing it!
My sister came along too and this moment with my family on shoot was precious as I felt vulnerable in front of the camera.
Soon I let out my smile and felt so free.
What are your desires?
Do you know how you are wired?
To be who you are.
Not ashamed of your scars.
To shine as it were, like a star!
Unashamed and free.
You’re unique and same with your destiny.
So trust you are made to be free.
Just remember that life is a ‘journey’.
Smile, dance and speak truth to your mind.
These moments are precious, there is no ‘rewind’.
So just BE. You are FREE.
There is beauty in vulnerability.
…Strength in weakness. Ride the wave…
And light will shine through the bleakest.
BE YOU THROUGH AND THROUGH!
