I started this piece in a place of  sadness. I felt compressed and upset and felt held back. However I decided to see hope through it and so put those feelings into my painting. I couldn’t understand why the day had happened as it had.

But as I gave my feeling over to God I started to feel lighter. After chatting with a friend I forgot about the piece. A day or so later I picked it up again, and with a lighter heart I started to use colour. It started to become this beautiful painting of life and true joy.

This showed me the opposite of depression is JOY…and joy comes through thankfulness!
